Took me a few years to actually notice it, but rarely do my dreams have emotions in them. Usually it's fighting, and so on, and even more R rated dreams, it's like no feeling to them, just instinct, and cold calculation.
Then the other night, had a dream, one of the rarer peaceful types, where someone in the dream wanted my attention and to just hold me in a hug and I felt something other than cold disdain, calculation or just in general felt instincts. Instead felt warm, cozy and safe, and was like, realized I rarely dream with emotions. Or at least a large range.
So what do you all think? Not about the dream per se, but do you remember having emotions in dreams or is it mostly full of instinct?

My dreams are full of emotion ... but it's different than in reality. In my dreams I have no control or influence over my emotions. So in a way you could say it's pure instinct/emotional living.
For example in reality fear is an emotion I register but usually switch off automatically, the same with lust unless it's appropriate of course In dreams I can't switch those thing off, if I'm afraid .. I'm afraid and all logic escapes me.
Calculation and calmness are things I rarely experience in my dreams.

Hmm, that's actually interesting.
Whenever I dream, how I am awake, is how I am asleep. Morals, attitude, and all are up to date me in my dreams. I might look different and have better fighting skills in my dreams, but generally if there's something I'd not do irl, generally it's the same in all my dreams.
I have slightly less inhibitions dreamwise, but not much.
Che why I was surprised to find I had emotions in only 2 dreams in past four months. Just not used to it.
And I guess pure emotion can equal instinct, as both are reactions to situations.
I'd love to give ya a truckload of rationale for sleep wise, cause just means your problems are just as real in your dreams as awake, so not really sleeping. V_V

*Nods* Is it sorta like an afterthought feeling? Like in the dream it's like you know what you should feel, but not really applying, though as you mentioned it carries over and might not have a clue why you were crying.
I've only ever awoken with pounding heart and adrenaline, like ready to kick butt, but rarely rested.
With emotions in dreams, I feel completely rested, even if a 15 minute nap, heh.

I know I get agitated in dreams and sometimes I wake up and I'm glad that the dream wasn't real so in that sense I am feeling it
But at the seem time, in the dream itself it's like I feel it but don't at the same time. It could just be an effect of memory though. As in when you look back on your dreams, everything is usually hazy anyway

*Nods* With regular dreams, I'd say it's like a memory feeling. Like something you feel and yet don't, though you think you should be feeling it.
That's what makes the emotion I'm talking about so weird. Cause it's like irl if someone touched your hand and you felt it, twas like emotions in dream as at the time, and not that hazy after feeling, and it lasts even to awake, as if just happy.
Not to mention me in dreams thinks too much like me awake. Like last night I had 48 dollars in my wallet and in dream I kept finding more money and like remembered I had 48 dollars and added it from there.

Of course it's a memory feeling ... you remember dreams.
At the time when I'm dreaming my feelings and emotions are very real but looking back on it it's obviously just the vague "oh yeah, I dreamt that." They're just dreams that fade.
As for the mix with dreams and real life, that's what ya get when you remember your dreams too well. The other way around is more irritating by the way
Never talked about something that happened and have people look at you strangely ... then to remember you dreamt it instead of experiencing it in waking life?

*Grins* I can't help it if my dreams are soo vivid almost all the time. It's why I remember them, cause each is just like waking in another world and living that life, then waking back to this one.
*Laughs* Yeah, I've had that happen one time too many, and it's worse when I just wake up and stuck between dream and waking. it's like two things happened, but the third was part of the dream, but all ran together seemlessly.
My family and friends all just are like never mind hannah, you mixed your dreams up again with real life

I've had some strong emotions in the dreams I do remember. A few were really happy feelings that carried on after I woke up. Being close to someone special . . . that inexplainable feeling that everything is right in the world. I've woken up a few times feeling really sad that carried over.

Snaps: That's pretty much what started this topic.
That feeling of everything being right and it carrying over, and it was always like three days before the feeling and dream dissipates, and just makes me wonder, then it's nothing.
Those are what I call my disturbing dreams really, heh
