I'm sure later, If I do find the post about the ren faire I'll explain more about what went on this year. However for now, I'd like to share some first experiences I had while there.

The rest of the place was very exciting and fresh and this year no dust! As usual they had the jousting tournament and the gypsy dancing/horse acrobatics that made the crowd applaud and hold their breath. However this year, they also allowed us to go up and Pet the Horses or the riders, lol. Most just talked to the riders, but I wanted to pet the horse. This would be my first time touching a horse. I dragged my mom along and we went down to our favorite horse of the show, a Belgian mixed draft horse, with a long black mane and shiny dark brown coat. Being courteous we let the kids go first. My mom commented to me later that I seemed nervous, and she thought I was afraid of the horse. I wanted to tell her, it wasn't necessarily that it was a horse, but that I was a predator x3 and removed by a few past lives. I knew many animals could sense the predator in me and they'd all react differently, and unexpectedly. Cats generally challenge me, or try to scratch or bite me. My own cat I live with still has issues with dominance tests. While dogs usually go out of their way to get closer to me for pets or get downright hostile. So I didn't know if the horse would be friendly, or suddenly shy away. The horse had his head kinda hidden behind a railing to keep them in, so could only pet the head. As I stepped to within view, and raised my hand to pet it and run if I must, The horse lifted it's head past the railing, stuck it way over to meet my raised hand and let me touch it's forehead. I was like yay, it gave me permission to touch it. I held my palm to it's fuzzy face a moment, then it lowered it's head again and I stepped back. I was relieved and shaky at the same time. Unfortunately it wouldn't let me touch it after that, only the kids. Heh, Or rather coincidentally whenever I went to pet it it would duck out of my reach or move it's head to dislodge my hand. Maybe accidental.

The second first for that day was buying a waist scarf. I was looking for harem pants and we saw the waist scarves they wear over the pants with the coins on it. I bought my mom an Ivory one with silver coins and later bought myself a black one with gold coins. As we watched the archers, and ate our fries, we would jingle with every step we took and it was just such a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was wearing costumes, or a cloth tiara with little streamers from the back, was just fun.

Then my mom got her palm read for the first time, and a bracelet just so happened to catch my eye. The guy helper in true Renaissance fashion was like would you like me to help you try that on my lady? I was like yeah sure in true modern fashion

It was very nice and matched the blue blown glass in my wolf necklace so I bought it and he helped me secure it and wear it out.

Overall A nice day for first times ^_^

Indeed I did, and when I got home, I got to wear my jingly little waist scarf. I love it. Trying to figure out how to fit it into an all black outfit. Teehee

At the farm were I have my riding lessons I get licked and snifed alot.They know I'm a wolf but they don't seem to mind it, I think its because they know me and don't mind me being around them. But my sister's cat seems to mind that I'm a wolf she hisses at me all the time.

I don't really know what animals are like with me generally cuz I don't have a big selection to compare them to..like how one cat reacts vs other cats

shadows cats are awesome though because the fat one really likes to be petted..the other one is a bit more shy..but i cant say how they react to me generally because i haven't experienced being around that many cats

turtles stare though..freaks me out a little @_@

Animals are extremely good at detecting insecurity, fear or other strong emotions. I'm guessing that is mostly why the horse was dodging you. Since you were obviously insecure about it's reaction it responded to that by being dodgy and insecure itself.

*grins* I was scared cause didn't know how it'd react at first, then I was pouty cause I conquered said fear, like when I stepped between two fighting dogs and one sat down when I was younger, only to have it shy away.

Alas, I guess my goal has changed from petting a horse just once to either getting to pet it twice or simply brush out a mane.

Why'd all my friends who live near farms have to be in another country

Its pretty nice living just ten minutes away from were I take my riding lessons.

I plan on taking up horseback riding ... some day, when I'll have time.

maybe if its ok sometime I'll post some pics of the horse I ride.

Aeldra: How come you don't like horses? Heard of the tales of I think it was like a Pookah, or something. The celtic legend that it rides ashore, steals a child from their beds and if they ride them into the sea, they die V_V Or I think that's what it was

I dunno. It's just they way they look and act and stuff.
