The Illusionist -3/5

The movie had maybe two surprises at the end and the rest you pretty much predicted from the beginning if you're a movie buff.

It did have an original magickal act, just wasn't really keeping you into the story, or edge of your seat. You're like you pretty much know the end and that's about it.

Wasn't too bad, but wasn't good either.

Lucky Number Slevin

5/5

I actually really liked this movie. It had good plot, and good acting. Not too slow if you don't mind the fly by fast talk, but not too quick, where you're completely lost.

It's one of those I'll add to my movie library, just cause of plot and execution of acting alone. heh

The Happening

-10/5

For an M. Night Shyamalan production I was very disappointed. The movie had no depth, none of his unexpected plot twists and a very, very silly storyline.

I wouldn't waste a penny on seeing it unless you love B-movies that don't make any sense and are just filled with gore.

The only positive thing I might say about this is that it tries to send an important message to everyone: respect nature. Even there it pretty much fails though.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

4.5/5

I loved this movie, mostly for staying true to the original concept. It fits in perfectly with the other Indiana Jones movies. Good oldfashioned relic hunting, deadly trap dodging and villain bashing fun with some modern special effects.

I also liked that Harrison Ford refused to have his character appear younger.

This is definitely a must see.

Hmm, I did want to see the indian jones movie, but heard mixed reviews about it. But if it's one of those, you'd have to be a fan to see true beauty of it, may be worth sitting down for a spell and checking it out. :)

Cloverfield

4/5

Despite the first half hour of the movie, that while trying to figure out the relationships going on, kinda puts you to sleep. Movie turned out surprisingly well. I feared it was going to be another blair witch project with the camera deal, but it was actually pretty good and brought good depth and reality to it.
Gotta say best seen I liked was the artillery scene and ppl are stuck in the middle. That one really just makes you feel part of the experience.

So if you haven't watched it, I'd give it a try. :)

Blood & Chocolate

3.5/5

Aside from the cheesy title this low budget movie about therians is rather original and breaks most silly werewolf conceptions that others of it's genre so violently embrace. This is a werewolf movie without bestial wolfmen that no longer control any of their instincts aside from the bloodlust.

It's not incredibly action packed though and the special effects/choreography are rather simple. This movie is from the same creators of Underworld but not quite in that class. Still it's a nice view for anyone interested in therians.

I only have one thing to say, It slaughtered the characters from the book. I rarely care about book to movie adaptations, but Blood and Chocolate was like Narnia. Only 100+ pages long. You really couldn't go terribly wrong with it. Or so I thought.

Gabriel was the best leader for the pack in the book and overall good guy, with immense patience. I refuse to watch the movie, cause It simply just ruins the dynamic duo that is Gabriel and Vivian :P Gabriel was my fave highlight of the book, so to see his character ruined for those who'll never pick up the book is saddening V_V

If you'd like to see difference in book to movie, simple wikipedia :D (Only like a page long)

That's all

Hancock

5/5

As currently can't think of anything wrong with it.

Must say I went in to watch Hancock expecting not to be surprised or even to enjoy it. I am glad to say I was wrong. :)

I liked that movie, definitely had a new twist on superheroism and definitely some surprises never saw coming a mile away. The ending I thought was touching and on many a level could relate.

So yeah, I loved it. Heh

Love me if you dare

4/5

This is a movie I decided to watch randomly after hearing a favorite song being made a video to it.

Although the entire movie is in french, I must say it was a very good one. I liked the characters and the storyline.

Basically the premise is two kids, start a game of dare when they're younger, and carry it to extremes as they grow older, and live their lives. It's kinda a crazy movie, but also its one that will leave you either laughing or smiling at some of the crazy things they do.

I definitely liked it, so did a review. :)

Wanted

somewhere between 4/5 and 5/5

My sis was right. Watching this movie with thought in mind there is a part two makes the movie much more satisfying. I loved this movie, lots of action and you feel you grow with the character. Definitely want to watch it again, without kids and people all over so can't see or hear. Heh.

If a fan of action, I recommend it :)

Twilight

4.5/5

It's really good. I like the Edward character a lot and the love story between him and Bella. Not as much blood/vampire lore but what do I care really. It's got vampires in it and a good love story! They developed the vampire characters really well. The scene with the thunder is a must see. All in all very entertaining. But not 5/5 cause it just doesnt beat my fave movies.

Vantage Point

5/5

For the quality of the movie. It's about these 6-8 different people who witness a presidential shooting. From each perspective, they find a piece of a clue to the puzzle on who shot the president and how it all went down.

I really liked how they did the movie, they start at the beginning from each vantage point and did it in a way, that the previous persons POV is in your mind, so you start connecting the dots, with a fabulous ending. It's like a music piece, that ends in a crescendo. So yeah, definitely recommend this one :)

Knowing

4/5

The movie is random. That's a must know before sitting down to watch it. The beginning is kinda creepy and a gripper, but then it falls into this really aimless, long, drawn out angsty thing for maybe 30 minutes. Just as you start to get slightly bored and consider turning it off, lo and behold, it begins to unravel pretty fast. Graphic is the word I'd put to this movie, so if you don't like graphic scenes wouldn't watch it. The movie is somewhat predictable with lots of foreshadowing that you literally can't miss. If you do, you're in another room. I wasn't too keen on the special effects, though as they were fast paced, they did the best they could.

All in all, I liked the movie for the simple premise, that made me want to watch the movie in the first place. Very atmospheric, just needed to kinda move it along a little faster, and not dwell so much on the angst. I'd say it's a definite check it out, and can't explain why I think that without giving too much away. ;)

If you do watch it, tell me what you think yourself hehe, or post review response here ^_^

17 again

4.5/5

This is not a long review. All I have to say is that it's predictable but a damn good movie. Very entertaining. No 5 stars because it's not "wow" like LOTR or POTC. Would have been great to see in the cinema

Transformers 2

4/5

It was a bit on the long side, too much unnecessary cursing, and terrible attempts at funny movies, which wasn't natural like it was in the first movie.

That being said, this movie has two sides to it.

If you're an action junkie and love action movies from beginning to end, well you'd be better off with the first Transformers.

However if you like a complete storyline, that may or may not adhere to the cartoon, as I don't know, then this is more the movie for you.

I liked the first one better, but this one had a lot of good points. Probably watch it again and revise rating, but for now, I goes with this. I liked it, just wasn't entirely thrilled with the way it was kinda randomly going along.
