This is just a late night thought heh.

So one day as too much trauma in one day happened to me poor brain, when I went to sleep had another rare nightmare. I don't know if it really was a nightmare, only that I had a dream that scared me until I woke up. All I know was it was something on they were coming and whatever was coming was scary. Che weird.

Anywho, Other than one random one like every six months to a year or few years, I don't have nightmares. Except the whale dream, that one I'll not forget anytime soon.

But does everyone else have less nightmares, about the same, does it affect sleep like it does in little kids or is it just another dream? Look for any meaning behind it, related to stress all the time or just sometimes what you watch?

Any opinions greatly appreciated.

One good thing about being at my sis's to babysit, I gets to use the net. ;)

When I was a kid I had alot of nightmares, in fact I had recuring nightmares, involving those talking rabbits from WaterShip Down that lasted for years, but I grew up and they went away. I rarely have a nightmare anymore.

I was the same as Arctic. Lots of nightmares and recurring ones as a kid ... now nothing anymore. The nightmares ended for me when I got that click that accepted death as a natural part of existence.

Nightmares aren't what I thought they were anymore.

When younger it's about the things we don't understand and are afraid of. Death was never really one of those things for me. Even when me mums bf OD'd when younger, wasn't really scary for me, but I understood it. It was being an answer to a question that scared me. Maybe was messengers of where he went, but the faces creeped me out. LOL

Still as older, the most horrifying things that could be conjured as a kid are either my past life or commonplace. It's something else that gives me nightmares. Half the time I don't remember anything, but a presence and trying to protect others, and having to run. The whale dream was an odd nightmare that creeped me out to no end. It was the feeling of malice towards me. But yeah, nightmares I find are interesting more than really scary, at least when awake :D

they say when you dream of death you're actually scared of change..dream symbolism and all..so may not actually be scared of death when someone dreams about it

my dreams are more random than anything else

*Grins* I has one in my closet from halloween. i always stick it in unexpected places to scare my mom when it rolls around. Teehee.

I think it's entirely interesting how when older people don't really have nightmares of like movies they watch or anything. It's just like you could watch it, maybe there'll be a surprise or two, but overall, like goes right back out of your brain when you sleep. So no nightmares. heh

What people consider nightmares, I consider cool. My nightmares no longer actually scare me when I wake up (except for one--and that was a few years back). I do feel fear in the dream (I've even screamed once in my dream and wound up screaming in the real world). Also, I look at anything scary as possibly story line. :D

Che a good way to look at it.

I have two sets of dreams that affect me. That's the rare nightmare, more like endangered and half the time I hardly ever remember what they're about.

Then there are the disturbing dreams of when I go to any lengths to either protect something I love or am pushed too far that I lash out. Those ones bother me more than the nightmares as they are very vivid, and half the time I can still feel them after I'm awake.

Those are my true nightmares cause I can't believe I'd be so vicious in them, when usually I'm a laid back wolf a lot of the time.

As for the death dream, it wasn't so much the dream itself as it was what it symbolized. I understood I guess the man's death, if not really the cause of it. However I was swamped by my mother's anguish at the loss. So when she asked if he'd gone up or down the paradise ladder, I dreamed of these laughing jagged faces. Most would call them demons, but they were just white faces laughing and smiling. Like masks from an opera, only they were scary, cause they changed into much worse and I was only like 7 or so. Hehe.

At the time I attributed it to an answer to a question, that yes indeed he did go down the ladder. Now I'm not sure what to make of it.
