Being around many vampires have taught me one thing. Somewhere along the lines Vampires have gotten structure or loose structure in the form of houses. One house I'm affiliated with have taken in therians and otherkin, and often ask if we were to right a book or our own rules what would they be?
Now I'm still looking into vampirism and their rules, but they do have concrete ones that help all Psy and sang generally try to coincide with one another more peacefully so they can come together as a whole.
Therians mainly have this issue, cause most therians are top of their food chain and coupling that with human personalities you get arguments, fights, and total chaos in most places. The main one being blamed on wolves, cause wolves generally like the hierarchy deal, pack structure, but that needs one leader, one alpha, and all those aspiring alphas equals heads butting.
So what do you believe should be rules to bring harmony to a majority of otherkin and therians in our communities?
Past problems had with bringing unity to otherkin and therians may be discussed.
Opinions Encouraged

I think you only need one 'rule' to be honest.
"Whatever you are, keep in mind that you're still human."
With this I mean that rules are not a thing of race or species. Rules are tied in with society, living together. So it's silly to give someone rules based upon their race. That's like saying black people need different rules than white people.
Follow the rules of your society or experience the consequences.
My ideal set of rules would require a lot of thought and experimentation so I'm not going into that here but I do stick to rules not being dependent on being kin, vampiric or whatever. Those who live together should live by the same rules.
After all, decent vampire house rules are usually the same rules of any society. Do not harm others. They're just expressed with different concepts.

*Grins* That'd be the first rule always.
Second rule of course being treat others way you want to be treated. That one has variables though. If some ppl like being beat, then they may treat others same and yeah, problems. But we'll stick with positive aspect
Funnily enough, most otherkin or therians don't get that, the society rules thing. not saying it should be based on what you are, that'd be far too specific, and yet it is also the same. Such as wolves should keep in mind human law. Not everyone you meet will want to be in a pack and even other wolves, are not going to want you to try to be dominant over them, as they will retaliate. In primitive form, which is just real wolf counterparts, they can dominate and such cause it's their lives, whereas as humans we have to add in large variables, like emotion and personality.
Just like the house rules, there's too many variables on otherkin and therians. When I remember specifics will list them. Just know that some ppl have been through arguments on what's acceptable in otherkin society. There's human society, but all you need do is keep to yourself and don't harm others and generally it's very easy to pass in that realm. In otherkin communities though, rules change as people are aware of individuals, not just human as a whole if that makes sense. Vampires say generally frowned upon if you take energy without ppl's permission. Not like if in a crowd, but if you're sitting across from someone and just start taking their energy just cause they have a lot of it.
In forums otherkin have rules, No rpg, no attacking each other, but if a group of kin were to get together w/o forum structure, would any rules be added sorta.
Blast long again, sorry, hope it made sense

Nobody gets all of societies rules. It's our biggest problem at this day and age ... too many rules, regulations and obligations. So much paperwork and so many things to keep in mind make it impossible to still be effective at what you want to do.
Which is why I think new (or pruning of the old) rules could be used everywhere but what those rules would be and how many of them there will be, is a tough question.

Most likely a lot. They're finding lovely loopholes all over in america's rules, but of course that's been going on for years.
Some societal rules are pretty basic, such as everyone has their own opinion and you shouldn't shove your ideals down their throats. Ha, yeah, not everyone pays attn to that. Either way, it's one of the main ones I'd be like yo, rules for community.

things should be simple...otherkin and everyone else alike should just be nice to each other most of the time, and be courteous
the only addition i'd make for kin is not to forget they are in a human body right now, in the present
but yeah i don't like rules these would be guidelines

You'd think it'd be so easy to just be nice. Unfortunately humans are hardly ever nice to each other without some motive or reason.
Even otherkin. And aren't rules guidelines? I mean don't want them technically to be broken. Such as no rpg'ers or spam in forums. As in those who'd take it excessively far with rpg'ers and such, but yeah. Those are rules, not really guidelines.
