As I've been hearing it soo often lately, figured open the floor for outside of the box thoughts.

So debate in christianity. If the lord says adam and eve were first folks on earth (nix if you believe or not, go logical or hypothetical) then how is it dinosaurs existed?

Devout Christians believe that dinosaurs did not exist at all, since adam and eve were created and you got man today.

Other christians and religions believe that dinosaurs did come first, and new world created for adam and eve after that time.

So what do you all think, if I explained it clearly that is.

Man before dinosaur and dinosaurs are fake, or dinosaurs existed before man?

I have been following this debate

Personally I don't view the bible quite so literally and with finality...I feel just because adam and eve may have been the first humans they might no necessarily have been the first on earth

Some creationists seem to explain this idea about man vs dinosaur by saying that dinosaurs were mentioned in the bible in the form of dragons..they say dinos are a form of dragons

dragonkin may disagree with this theory...i feel that you can never truly know these things for sure..there are so many mysteries about our distant past and so many things we may have gotten wrong!

but i digress...furthermore, there have been theories that man and dino have walked together..evidence being from footprints found in the same layer of mud besides rivers and things....i'm sure some can be explained away but some not so much (go watch a documentary if you want to know more :P)

so what i'm sayin is that i think its not so simple as either first dinos then man or man first and dinos are fake....there is no way dino's can be fake...well they could be faked by some mystal universal force but that's not very likely because we have their bones

so my view is that dino's may well have walked WITH man, we just can't tell these things for sure..and there are problems with carbom dating beyond 5000 years (again if you want to know more please watch a documentary..these are my own views)..something about it being unstable..and some scientists have found human bones older than ever before and have been shunned by the scientific community because it is "seemingly impossible"...so anyway i think nothing is impossible and and they may have walked together in our distant past but as to which came first, probably the dino's

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creation_a ... to_Genesis

and addording to this link God created all living things first including reptiles and then created man in his own image...well there ya go..not so discrepant after all

Dinos never having existed is just silly. We have tons of proof of their existence.

*Nods* My stand on it is that, when they said God created animals and reptiles first, that those could've been Dinosaurs.

They never said a specific amount of time in between two. Like god made animals 20 years before he made humans. So could've been he made animals (dinosaurs) and let them evolve and then threw man into the mix.

I forgot what else I was going to say >_<

Get back to you on that

Exactly. People take the whole 7 "days" thing way too literally. 7 "days" up in heaven or whatever plane the gods reside on could be 7 eons earth time!

And yeah I don't see how people can forget dino's are reptillian.

My mom wants to take an impromptu road trip to Texas to understand what all the commotion is about.

She's thinking that when people say the earth is old, that's how long man has been alive, but they mean the dinosaurs were here long before man, then man came along.

But she doesn't get it.

And yeah, it's that they don't listen to what you're saying when you tell them that 7 days can equal longer than 7 days. I mean man is said to have lived to be a 1000 then, so makes sense could've been eons before man came. :P

Here are your seven days according to scientific dating estimates.

By the way, how would an immortal, omnipotent being that doesn't live on our planet even know what time is, let alone a day?

edit:

pic replaced with link to prevent expanding threads. :P

This topic reminds me of a website I came across a few years back. If you want to be mildly terrified or you want a good laugh, I suggest you take a good look at every corner of this site. Professor Girrafenstein has all your dino and science related questions answered.

well they are omnipotent so they know everything by definition :P

but anyways i don't think the gods must have calculated how much time it would take to create stuff..the 7 days could represent 7 stages as well not necessarily time

but yeah humans think too literally

i remember that page snaps

It's like one of my favorite sayings in a series of books I read.

To an immortal a 100 years is just like living another day. They could live forever or near to forever, see civilizations rise and fall in the blink of an eye.

But to humans life is finite, so we hold on to every day as if it was our last.

And yeah, humans take everything literally, probably wasn't even the word day in there, until man came up with it, then it was suddenly called a day. Maybe it had another translation when it was first supposed to be written.
