I couldn't decide where this would best fit in a selected area, so if in wrong spot, mind moving it for me, Mod or admin? Much appreciated.

If in the right spot, well here's my thoughts. :D

Everyone has a talent, something they are good at. Writing, drawing, photography, metalsmithing, etc.

But behind every talent is usually a muse, or something that inspired the talent.

For myself, writing is my talent, and my muse is emotions, feelings. But I began to wonder, what would be behind other talents?

Such as what made one adjust a picture just so in photography, or what inspired that woodcarving, and so on.

So if you get what I mean, what's your talent, and what's your muse?

Any questions just ask :P

I have several ways to free my muse. Writing, music and building. My muse is rage and frustration. I tend not to get sad as much as either angry or frustrated. It motivates me to make change as well.

I think this is what you were looking for. If not, my bad.

my muse is a vague and hard to describe thing...sometimes its an idea that i want to put into words in my poetry or stories...sometimes its a feeling....and others its an image in my head that i have to describe in words...as for when i used to do photomanipulations it was both images and concepts in my head

*nods to yetaro* Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm asking for :)

It makes me wonder if emotion is the general muse of the mind? I mean, songs are written with emotion, stories are written with emotion, and so on.

What do ya think?

*Nods* Do you think your muse is more directly linked to dreaming or reality?

As some write biographies or movies as their muse, so yeah, heh :)

Let me refine a bit.

Dreaming meaning like for me, when younger, dreamed of falling in love, so wrote a story about love, that evolved into something about a war and shapeshifters, either way, my muse(emotions) chose a dream of mine at the time to create a world I never got to experience.

Hope that made sense.

So like would whatever talent you have be based more on fantasy I suppose, or reality :)

Ahh hopeful wishes kind of dreams .. now I get ya.

Well I do think that my photography is a way to perfect the world. I try to make things better than they are in reality.

There ya go, now we're on the same page ^_^

I started writing for love and also cause my bro left and I wanted to preserve a world we'd both created that was fun and fantastical, but as all games we play as children go, it disappeared with age and we went our separate ways, and I found a muse and truth in my writings later on. heh

That'd be cool like surreal world, and it's something that makes a person pause and stare at a photo for a bit. Like whoa, in real life, is soo plain, but in this photo, jumps out at ya. :D
