so i noticed i religion that there are two types of people (among those who believe in stuff)...people who follow a god, or practice/practices, or the ways of a religion
and the people who believe but don't really follow
i count myself among the latter, preferring to have a more friendly relationship with my gods vs following per se
what are your views/which one are you?

I've tried both, mostly I'm a non-follower since I believe in following/finding my own path but at other times I get so tired of things not working out that I have tried to actively worship certain deities. Usually I revert back to my non-follower ways though since I have issues with blind faith.

I don't really follow any practices and just believe what I believe.

I dont follow anything. I believe in nature.
btw, in the 17th century a philosopher (John Locke, maybe?) said that within 400 years with advances in technology and learning there would be no use for religion.
400 years later, we still have towelheads bombing people who are the "wrong" religion.

may i ask, what do you believe shang? personally, i'm very eclectic in my beliefs..drawing on various aspects of pagan religions to create my own view..i find it so hard to explain when people ask me what my religion is because simply "pagan" fits the bill but isnt enough and yes, please be politically correct J muslims don't wear turbans, those are people who believe in sikhism..arabian peoples may wear protective headgear to protect themselves from sand but regardless of the details...try to be more sensitive

I'm of the second variety. I have things in common with christianity, however I don't follow the religion to a T and I don't really worship technically any god. I believe first and foremost in nature. Much more simple than any religion or sect in the world. Secondly I believe that in some ways, there is one god. Not particularly to discredit any others, but rather, when i look at all religions, I see that many people will have some ideal of whom they want to be their ideal god. Usually there is a good and bad place and a set of rules. So in my eyes, most religions are quite similar, no matter told how different. Nonetheless, I believe there is someone watching over me, helping me, when I need and I respect, not worship him. I think worship is too strong a word these days, it usually entails such words as sacrifice and bowing down. My religion is simple and free. I go outside and I'm part of my religion. I believe in myself, listen to nature and feel connected to something more and in tight spots I have been helped almost as if with an invisible hand or miracle. Also I feel better when I talk to the heavens at night, even if they don't talk back. So in the sense, that I believe in one god and I do believe that the christian lord jesus died for us to save us from our sins, cause I believe humans can be remarkably stupid at times, but they also have vast potential to be greater beings. Someone had to save us from ourselves, whether it be my lord or someone else's. Alas we come to my point, that I don't believe in the bible. if that makes one christian, Then I think I'm not. It can be influenced by man and I'd rather not follow something that relies on wits of mankind solely. I'd also rather not follow something blindly that my heart doesn't believe in, again, it is the church in this case. I get stuffy, uncomfortable and want to bite people and get absolutely nothing sitting there for one hour, might as well sit in advanced math and hope I'll catch on. I'm bad at math. I don't believe our god is some vengeful, wrathful, you are all doomed to hell cause you said shit seven times this week. Forgive my language, but you get the point. I've never really had that happen. Mostly it was more about respecting individuals and learning your true self and balance, and so far, I haven't felt the evil, angry wrath of our god. But yeah, tis my two cent input

I consider myself an eclectic pagan because I believe in the Judeo-Christian god, but I also have a strong connection to nature (spiritually) and don't follow in of the Christ-based religions because I don't wholly agree with them nor do I wholly agree with any religions: only parts fit me. I use stones, as well....That's all that's coming to mind right now, but there's probably more.
