well i thought i'd kick start discussion again and start with this section
basically i have been making some progress with my memories in that i seem to be getting new ones...i keep seeing a white city..perhaps atop or near a cliff..and also a male figure..possibly another one of my kind (i'm only getting the face so far)..he's got long dark hair and large eyes and seems to be talking to me
the problem is i cant hear anything...i know he's supposed to be conversing with me but i have no idea what he's saying
do any of you get that? memories/visions that lack sound? how am i supposed to figure out what the conversation is about

Hmm, can't say that I've ever had one without sound ... then again I've never had one with someone talking to me. Now that I think about it .. I never recall conversations from dreams either. I know what dream people were saying to me in an intuitive/emotional sense but I don't recall hearing words.
In many testimonies/techniques people talk about clairvoyance (visions) and clairaudience (sound) as seperate skills though so it might be that one comes easier than the other. Don't have any experience practicing clairaudience so I'm no good there.
I'd try analysing your feelings and emotions during the vision to get a hint of the conversation maybe.

i think what i meant about the sound is that it had a very dreamlike quality..i wanted to know what he was saying but had no idea...i guess cause i havent experienced that before and usually rely on the physical in daily life for conversing
i'll look into further analysis of body language and emotion and post more...it must be so difficult though for people who have detailed memories and an entire language..how do you decipher the language? i have always wondered about that

Well for folks who believe they've spoken a different language in a past life and seem to spill out sometime in this one, you just kinda figure out which ones are repeated compared to an action. Sorta like this word I know, udane. I think it's a real word. However, it means wait. Dambane means like a curse. There are other words I know, only by saying them and relating them to what I'm trying to say in english. Others may be different, but I'm not sure. As to talking to people in the past, I get snatches of sound. Never really any basis on it though. Such as one dream I had about a fight, as usual for me, and in it there was a guy fighting beside me. I didn't know who it was, I did know what he was, cause by the end of the fight, he looked around with triumph and said 'Now that's how us Tigers do it'. There's always missions I remember speaking to colleagues on in past life. One I was arguing I didn't want to be bitten by baby crocs and my partner was laughing and debriefing me, and in another I was communicating on best how to resolve an attempted kidnapping/hostage situation. Nothing really stands out though, unless it stays with me to waking world. I do agree with Zan in that I'd just try to figure out what you felt, or what you noticed around you. Oft times when there's lack of sound or garbled, that there's something more important for you to focus on. I can't think of an example off top of my head, but I know it's proved worthy for me I do hope you figure it out though ^_^

that really helped guys...i think i know more now...from the emotional cues and body language it seems like the guy was family..like a brother or cousin..you know it's nice to know i had family
also everything seems to centre around that white city..it appears to be very important in my former life

White cities seem to be a popular topic for past life memories. Used to have entire topics dedicated to them on other forums and many people who remembered a white city (though not always the same city). Have you tried drawing a map of the city yet? It used to help me when remembering places. A lot of the sections were usually obscure/blank and I filled them in using imagination but other areas I could just see in my mind ... which usually resulted in the triggering of more memories.

yeah you've mentioned before this white city theme...i wonder what it is about it that makes it so common..or maybe white is just a good colour to paint the walls
anyway no i haven't tried that but it's a great idea and will most certainly help!...when i think about it, one of the distinctive features of this city is that its very circular if that makes much sense..with an important building in the centre

Maybe it's a like a blanket color. Cities have so many colors, that instead of trying to pinpoint colors easier to just think of a white city. Either that or since most of us lived before modernization and most colors had some evil connotation behind them, it was just purity equals white or glory equalled white, so therefore, instead of grey cities, go for beautiful sparkling white cities. I remember columns being white and approaching a large black mass in the middle of white, but the city was actually more a pale blue color. Like roman columns only much taller. I never thought to draw the map of a city. Mostly because most of the city was already in ruins and it was mostly water all around, more than buildings. The other city I remember was a huge desert. Anyway, I'm glad you figured that out Rosey. Hopefully you find more answers about your kin as in kindred. hehe
