I suppose the distinction I meant was at my age when I was younger. lol
Then king arthur was king arthur, disney was disney, and sailor moon, and dragonball where I lived anyway as more cartoons. I actually didn't know till I was older that the dragonball series was an anime, nor sailor moon. I mean I saw the differences between like bonkers on disney and tail spin and my little pony from Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon and Dragonball, but it didn't really click that they were two styles.
I loved digimon (Coughs the original coughs), however that one I also didn't peg as anime.
Now the distinction is being made more clear that there are different styles once you're old enough to know it. Not to mention with japanese culture becoming more and more popular with the western world, it's easier to integrate the shows into the programs and expound. Ie comic con, cosplay, etc.
*Grins* As for droopy, I loved those cartoons. ^_^ Especially Coyote and road runner and of course T&J(Tom and Jerry). That little duck was always so cute.
I often lament the loss of actual educational shows. I mean they're still educational, but they're more like singing educational, moreso than showing traditions, morals, etc.
Like I was mostly a pbs kid. If don't know, it's this channel, that used to play like The Puzzle Place, The big Comfy Couch, Lamb Chops Playalong, sesame street and best of all Ghost Writer. That show was old. lmao
I also remember waking up to mousercise. it was on disney and was this obscure show, that basically took kids through exercises every morning before school. My sibs and I used to love it. Even had our own mats on the floor to do all the exercises. They had poohs corner and dumbo's circus. Gummi bears. Again I watched too much tv. lol
Anywho, I miss most of those shows. Now you got innane crap like boobah on tv. Besides teaching kids how to look creepy and drool properly I don't know what keeps shows on air these days.
Though I must say I never want to see another VR Troopers. It was this horrible spinoff of Power Rangers(Again the Original, but including the green/white ranger) but was ten times worse. That was the joke of my sibs and my age. We are V/R Troopers. Virtual Reality. *Goes off to die laughing*

Growing up here in Canada, I watched Transformers, Jem, My Little Pony, which I mentioned earlier but I also watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Thunder Cats, TailSpin, Gummi Bears, Chip/Dale Rescue Rangers, but my favorite will always be Transformers because whenever Optimus Prime opened his mouth that golden voice made me feel safe. But now I watch The Simpson's and Family Guy.

*Grins* Anyone remember captain planet? That show was soo horrible. I remember the smurfs and care bears and something called The Wuzzles. That one was really old I think. I know it was late 80's early 90's type of show. Now I rarely watch tv anymore. Mostly cause with work always starting late and ending late, I end up missing all the 'new' episodes when they come on and when I get to actually have a day off that coincides with the show, it's like so much going on that I don't know about and it spoils it. I don't like watching tv on compy neither, though I may start doing that as I've got more free time than usual cause of a few changes. I liked family guy in the early seasons. Now it's like, they're developing the characters too much too soon. And it's like how they try to be funny instead of it just being randomly funny, like when peter was holding his shin and wrong back and forth, going sssss oww sssss owww. lmao I did like futurama, I think it'd do good with development though, just as long as they try natural funny and not trying to be funny. It's how so many comedy movies go down the drain

haha! yes captain planet..he's a hero..and then there was earth, air, fire, water, and heart...it's wasn't that bad..it was what i would describe as "timepass"...that's an adjective that means that something was only good enough to pass the time...or only worth watching just to kill time...remember that cuz i use that word from time to time

I actually liked Captain Planet since they were always coming up for the environment and maybe a bit because they had wickedly cool powers over the elements.

*Shakes head* It was definitely just for passing the time. lol The only thing I was partial to was the earth creature, but I didn't like the show that much. Too cheesy, and repetitive. My sis loved it. However, me and my bro were Ronin Warriors all the way. Beast wars fans, and of course, Obsessed with King arthur. Just gotta repeat for old times sake. 'I am king arthur and we are the knights of justice, we pledge fairness to all to protect the weak and vanquish the evil.' Then amazing transformations and Knights get their horses against the evil morganna. Yeah, good old cartoons lol
