Personally, I just share what I think I know but usually with the 'diplomatic' touch of making sure it's my limited experience and not the absolute truth. I also always try to make sure that the people themselves think actively on a topic by asking related questions rather than just giving them my ideas. That ensures they don't blindly accept something and they don't get attached to you deciding things for them. It keeps everyone independent.

as for me i'm happy to answer any questions people have but wouldnt go around teaching people things since i'm not really qualified to teach anyone anything!...i would probably tell them that but offer to answer any queries as best i can

*nods* I really don't know when I'll go into teaching mode I suppose. Usually I don't broadcast anything I've done or experienced as I don't have enough control over anything really to even be listened to briefly.

Just one friend either gets fed up teaching people who's supposed to be his friends or under him and so refers them to me and I usually just go with what I've done, that I'm not experienced and should do much research.

But nonetheless, I feel better when they are on their own path and already independent enough to do their own thing. I usually just encourage and help over any hurdles. The only ones who get attached are ones who are sad and looking for a pick me up or looking for guidance and if you have enough answers, doesn't matter if you don't want someone stuck to you, eventually they always ask you everything. Just hard when they gotta learn to accept you don't know everything
