I walk these paths
Alone again
Luna my only companion
Her silvery radiance guides my steps
Marking the path I tread

As I wander the forested paths
My feet have often walked
My mind goes back
Back to brighter days
When my world was filled with light

As my mind recalls
What I had lost
She comes to walk beside me
Luna takes my hand
With a regretful smile
Her gaze reflecting the loss
She feels within me

She tells me
'Fear no more thy path,
Faithful soul. Cast away thy sorrows
And dance with me evermore.'

She leads me away
To the place her chosen dwell
Dancing and laughing
Within her light and song
But that place was not yet for me

With my heart slowly breaking
I tell her, 'Forgive me, lady of my dreams
but this place is not yet my home.'

With a single bright tear
Trailing down her face
She nods and says, 'This I know,
Faithful one. But listen well my words now.
This place will always be open to thee.'

And so I once more
Found myself alone
On the moonlit paths
But my journey
Is no longer hopeless

For I know within my soul
That she waits for me
To return to that place

The place where
I will dance evermore
With Luna in her garden
