I can as long as I have the energy to do it and the right triggers. Usually those triggers are emotions or music but they could be anything that reminds you of a kin aspect of yourself.

I consciously bring on mental shifts all the time. It allows me to bring out the wolf for a while and roam around. It's a very liberating experience. As stated, certain emotions, music, sights, and sounds can induce them as well. Please feel free to direct any more questions pertaining to shifting to me. I'm definitely not new to the topic.

For me I'm not sure whether I'm inducing them or the particular environment in which they seem to happen are triggering them.
I'm also not sure if it can be called shifting technically since i'm not therian
Been getting these odd images. They seem like mental shifts intertwined with possible memories. I had shifted and looked at some wheat like plants rustling in the wind and then suddently got an image of my hand running accross similar plants as I walk accross a field. Then my attention is grabbed and I take to the air. This occured only recently.
Other times it's like I have shifted into a different state of mind/seeing things and the nature/greenery/trees around me suddenly seem more alive. But this has only been happening in that particular area.

I've never tried inducing a shift actually. Generally my behavior has always been my therians, so I haven't had to worry so much about shifting at irregular intervals.
I don't think shifting pertains to therians only though, I think it's more defined as getting in touch with your other half. Just not very many therians can just walk on all fours, or go about roaring daily, so most shifts pertain to that freeing of oneself, heh.
I experienced something similar to what you're experiencing, though to me sounds more like it is something triggered, rather than induced at first, and returning to the spot could be inducing it as you know what will happen. I'd just stand there and see what images come to you as generally they mean something.

I'm with Nightwolf here .. shifting doesn't have to mean shifting towards a more animalistic mindset, it can be any mindset different from your day to day one.
As for the more vivid nature thing, sounds like what I get after I've meditated in (read: got in touch with) nature. Then I open my eyes and everything is more vivid, alive and radiating.
Maybe that's what you're doing, Rose? Getting in touch with the energy of nature around you? Freeing your fae-self. Makes sense since fae are usually linked to nature.

yeah maybe..the images i get are very nature centred
i've been getting a name or word though recently
theres this bit that looks a bit like billowing wheat like plants...i see it blowing in the wind and then i get this image of walking in a field brushing my hand over these wheat like things and then this other fae, felt like one of my kind looks and me and says something...but i caught the following word:
y'shka
don't know what it is or if its a name or word
and then we fly off towards a white city in the midst of some treetops.
another thing is that theres this ancient wall along the sides of this road i look at it and i get the image of stones falling on this field forming a wall

That sounds interesting, Rose. Maybe try to run the word by someone who knows gaelic ... a lot of fae myths originated from there. Also white cities seems to be a recurring concept. *remembers Anum Cire*

It's great you're starting to get more from the images, sometimes can mean letting energy flow right to receive more of it instead of blocking it. Sorta like when I first started seeing like remote viewing, for a while, confusing and think it might be something else, but eventually was able to let it flow more and focus more and eventually, voila, I'm still working on remote viewing, but I'm pretty sure I can do it now. As for the word, I'm with Zan. They say most fae or elven's language comes from Gaelic or some old world form of language, though Gaelic is very hard to speak or pronounce right.

Well I've just heard several kin speak of a white city, often connected to ancient ireland or england and fae. Anum Cire is one of those mentions, apparently a big walled white city from back in the time of the gaelic fae myths, when this world was still connected to others. From what people told me the city became corrupted and eventually destroyed, burned to the ground. The first chapter of a story I've written goes about this, based on what I've heard from people but with a lot of added imagination. Personally I've had flashes of another white city but then in the middle of a desert, which did share a similar fate.
