So I was wondering the other day
Do most of you feel as if your kinness is a separate entity within you that you can talk to and interact with or not separate in any way and wholly integrated into your personality?

I'm me, fully and completely.
I do understand the reason for people to separate their kinness, for easier understanding. I've done it temporarily during my awakening. Separated 'moods' that brought me in touch of specific attributes I experienced in my past.
In the end I'm one person though, one soul that shares many experiences. Looking at the experiences seperately is absolutely fine but I think that we owe it to ourselves to unite them. That's what makes us grow as a person.
Sticking to one side of our being, of our kinness is like living one specific time of our past. We ignore all other things of our personality .. all the other experiences we've had before or after that specific one. It can still be a good tool for exploration but it shouldn't get out of hand, in my opinion.

*Raises paw* That'd be a thing I do.
When i first awakened, all three fully, I worried that at some point could 'lose' one of my therians. Especially after an astral experience had me questioning things. Then I realized their memories are mine, they are me, and I can't ever 'lose' them as they are part of me. Might suppress them subconsciously, and it takes conscious notice of the action to make them resurface.
It's not so much separating out based on moods for me though, or even just doing so. Being two types of therians in essence, big cats (2) and wolf, two types of instincts surface. That's why if you ever hear me speak of my therians, i saw wolf definitive and big cat, either panther or tiger.
I do agree it's easier to separate them for indentifying reasons, especially in past life memories. But mostly it's the instincts I go by.
Wolf is more hyper energy, mischievous, always wants to run with the night, borrows energy from the moon, and likes to chew things obsessively.
Big cats on the other hand are quieter, more reserved, more emotional and usually feel like shredding something with claws or hissing.
Other than that, really don't separate them, as they are me, and I have enough issues without having to decide if I'm all one or just four.
Just a thought to all those who talk to me, if you look back on convo's we've had, could you tell at what points, one set of instincts over took the other to pinpoint which therians was leaning more towards? If that makes sense anyway, heh.

well to answer your question..i can sort of tell on hindsight..but at the time had no clue
I asked this question because some people seemed to refer to them as separate and some not so..personally i don't really separate my kin from myself but i do sense a deep mystery when it comes down to it..there is tons more i need to explore

I probably notice most of the 'jumps' you make, Nightwolf but I have no idea which is which. It's all you but you do tend to hop from one side to the other at times.

*Smiles* I actually just had sorta hindsight that I do indeed do that. Switch from one to other, which is why I asked. LOL
Rose: Yeah sometimes kin do that, but for me as said it's old habit. When first got memories, became easy to tell apart, and how they awakened years apart from each other.
Now it's easier to merge, just old habits die hard.

Well I only have one kin so far so I guess it's easy to distinguish for me

How about separating kin and human aspects then, Rose?

I agree with Zan. One person or entity that shares many experiences. To me - I'm an angelic which happens to be in human form at this point in time. And as long as the soul is in physical form - it is one identity, as to most that is who/what we are. They know simply what they see.

In my personal opinion, many "kin" who consider themselves to be "separate" from their kintype, are just that (with the exclusion of multiples and such, of course). If it doesn't feel like you ARE your kintype, and your kintype is YOU, then most likely it is separate. It may be a totem, a spirit guide, or even a plain old like. In other words, it's simply an outer connection.
Purplemoon, I do strongly agree with your perspective. I'm a non-human who just happens to be in a human body right now.
Anyway, that's how I feel/my two cents.

Well here I thought I had answered this, but apparently I haven't lol. I'm an angel squished into a human body. I'm just me. I'm an angel in a human body...my 'kin' is me and vice versa...I don't know anything other than that, though I haven't always had the right label (or any label at all) for myself, I've always just been a complete package.

The best way to tell what you are from a totem, is instincts. Like I have three totems. A snake, a spider*Shudder* and a Crow. I always feel powerfully drawn to snakes, though they are the rarer totem. I don't feel like a snake, just that I'm mesmerized by snakes. Spiders creep me out. Seriously. It's a healthy fear, not technically irrational. Only that I don't like them. However, I believe that a totem can be a spirit you fear, but is always there and when you can face and conquer your fear then you'll be stronger individual for it. Although on recent insight, just realized it could be a perfect representation of a totem for emotional matters. Hmm Crow is my seer of sorts. It portends good or bad things that'll happen occassionally.
Being a multi-therian, I feel like a wolf, and I feel the instincts of a big cat coursing through my veins. Most will try to convince you that you can't be more than one and you must choose. However I was like I can't choose, cause it's what I've felt I always was. Just didn't know the words for it, just acted it out. Now I know what I am, and I accept that I am a wolf, I am a tiger, and I am a panther, as well as a human. Wow it's been a while since I said that. lol
As said above, I just feel each instinct or slight astral shift from one form to another.
